With the First Test against India starting on Friday at Headingley, the groundstaff, headed by Richard Robinson, are working flat out to ensure the wicket is in perfect condition.
For Robinson, ably assisted among others by Jasmine Nicholls, the first woman to prepare a pitch at Headingley – the England-Pakistan T20 international in May 2024 – this will be just his second Test following his appointment by Yorkshire in March 2023.
