WEST INDIES’ Matt Forde hit the joint fastest fifty in ODI history when he reached his half-century in a 16-ball blitz in the second ODI against Ireland in Dublin.
Forde made 58 from 19 balls, launching eight sixes, as the West Indies posted 352-8 in their 50 overs.
Playing his tenth match, it was 23-year-old Forde’s maiden ODI half-century, the seam bowler having previously amassed just 100 runs in six innings (30 of those runs came in sixes). His previous highest score of 38 came in the first ODI, also at Dublin, two days before.
