Exciting quartet sign contract extensions with Bears Women

Amu Surenkumar, Millie Taylor, Nat Wraith and Chloe Brewer have all signed contract extensions with Warwickshire Women.

Surenkumar, Taylor and Wraith have signed two-year extensions, keeping them at Edgbaston until at least the end of the 2028 season, while Brewer has signed a one-year extension that will see her remain with the Bears until the end of 2027.

Warwickshire Women Head Coach Ali Maiden said: “This is fantastic news for everyone involved at the Club, retaining four of our most exciting talents. They are all a key part of what we’re trying to build here.

“All four players have outstanding talent and have shown in their time at the Club that they can contribute and win games of cricket for Warwickshire.”

Improving

“The great thing for us in being able to keep them here is that they are all still developing and improving. That’s exciting, and I’m looking forward to seeing what they can achieve in the coming years.”

All-rounder Surenkumar has played across formats for the Bears during 2026, with the 19-year-old emerging as one of the brightest prospects in the county game.

Having joined the Bears ahead of the 2025 season from Sunrisers, Surenkumar has already represented England Under-19s, featuring at the 2025 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Surenkumar said: “I’ve learned so much since joining the Bears and feel this is a great environment for me to continue developing my game. I have a lot that I want to achieve in the game and with the coaches and support I have here, I know I’m in the best possible place to be able to do that.”

Taylor has impressed across her opening two seasons with the Bears and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in 2025. The left-arm leg-spinner claimed 22 wickets to finish as the leading wicket-taker in the Women’s T20 Vitality Blast.

Taylor said: “I’m really happy to have signed a new contract with the Bears. I’ve loved my first couple of seasons at Warwickshire and feel like I’ve grown a lot as a player. There’s a great group of players and coaches here, and I’m excited to keep improving and hopefully contribute to more success for the Club.”

Outstanding

Wicketkeeper-batter Wraith has also signed a two-year extension, with the 24-year-old set to build on an encouraging 2026 season.

An outstanding talent behind the stumps, Wraith produced one of her best performances with the bat during the Bears’ one-run victory over Lancashire in the Vitality Blast this season, smashing 83 from just 48 balls.

Wraith said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Warwickshire so far and feel like I’m continuing to develop as a player, so to sign a two-year extension is really pleasing. There’s an exciting group of players here, and I’m looking forward to playing my part and helping the team achieve success over the next few years.”

Top-order batter and seam bowling option Brewer has also committed her future to the Bears. Having previously played for Central Sparks, the 24-year-old joined Warwickshire ahead of the 2025 season and will now remain with the Club through to the end of 2027.

Brewer said: “I’m excited to have signed another year at Warwickshire, with some really great people and a setup which supports the team goals and my individual goals. After having a significant injury last season, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to represent the Bear and Ragged Staff for another year.”
