ED SMITH BACK ON BOARD

FORMER NATIONAL selector Ed Smith, 48, has been appointed to the ECB board as a non-executive director. Smith, who turned out for both Middlesex and Kent and played three Tests for England in 2003, will join the ECB on October 1 when his one-year term as MCC President ends.
Smith was England men’s selector from 2018 to 2021, during which time England won the World Cup in 2019. He also while introduced a rest-and-rotation policy to maintain the wellbeing of England’s players during the Covid pandemic.
