De Villiers goes berserk for Longridge

Brutal: Matt de Villiers smashed 247 from 88 balls

PLAYING IN an NPCL 40-over cup match against Whalley, South African batter Matt de Villiers hit 23 fours and 22 sixes en route to an 88-ball 247 for Longridge.
Longridge amassed 447-4 in 40 overs. Coming in at the fall of the first wicket, de Villiers hit the highest individual score in Longridge’s history.
The highlight of the onslaught was the 36th over of the innings, bowled by Joshua Denrith, where de Villiers hit a six off every ball.
