About now, I expect my son will be exploring long-forgotten corners of our garage in search of the golf clubs he demanded for his 17th birthday then almost immediately discarded.
Later on, having watched more of The Open, he will likely re-introduce himself to the neighbours to retrieve miscued ‘approach shots’ and blame the dog for the sudden appearance of divots in my lawn.
Finn, my Yorkshire terrier, enjoys a daily walk that takes us past the local tennis courts. A month ago, the place was pretty dead but during Wimbledon they courts were packed.
