Zaidi sinks Darwen to give Burnley the Lancs title spoils

BURNLEY took the Lancashire League title after five points from their abandoned match with Lowerhouse proved enough to finish above both Littlehouse and Darwen. Lowerhouse made 197-7 from their 50 overs before the game was abandoned with Burnley on 87-2 chasing a revised target of 131. This left Burnley’s fate in Darwen’s hands and resulted in a nervy wait for the Turf Moor faithful.
