Full of confidence following his first Championship hundred (107 in 117 balls) in Yorkshire’s game against Worcestershire before the current clash at Chester-le-Street, Dom Bess is in fighting form and living up to his growing reputation as a genuine all-rounder – an off-spinner and a capable bat.
The 27-year-old, who seems to have experienced more than his fair share of fluctuating fortunes, retains the ambition to regain his England place which he lost after playing the last of his 14 Tests in March 2021 against India.
