Ben’s a red-ball option too

DERBYSHIRE are ready to consider using Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Mc-
Dermott in the County Championship.
McDermott had initially been signed to play white-ball cricket.
But head of cricket Dave Houghton has hinted he could be used in the Championship as well.
“Should we want to use Ben in our four-day games, we can,” he said.
“He’s keen to play first-class cricket, so that’s a bonus for us.”
