South Africa captain Temba Bavuma sat out of the South African domestic first-class competition final this week with an elbow injury.
He was due to play for Lions against Titans in the five-day match that started in Johannesburg on Thursday, but has missed the game due to injuring the same elbow that saw him miss South Africa’s tour of England in 2022.
He injured it again fielding against Ireland in an ODI in Abu Dhabi last year and has played the majority of the last few months wearing heavy strapping.
