Balbirnie left frustrated as Irish fall short

DISAPPOINTED Andrew Balbirnie says his Ireland side must improve with the bat if they are to overturn a deficit and win their five-match T20 series with Zimbabwe. Richard Ngarava defended five of the last over as Ireland fell three runs short of Zimbabwe’s paltry 117-7 in Dublin – their second lowest winning total in history.
Simi Singh was the stand-out performer for Ireland with an unbeaten 28 after having taken 2-22 with the ball. Kevin O’Brien (25) and Hundred hero Paul Stirling (24) also contributed but Ireland ultimately fell just short.
