The Lord’s nailbiter was a throwback of a Test match where conditions dictated the way the game was played.
England realised they couldn’t use their usual template on that slow surface and bully the opposition. Instead, they had to eke out any runs they could to stay in the match, and ultimately went on to win it in dramatic fashion on day five.
