All-rounder Eva Gray signs for Hampshire

Pace-bowling all-rounder Eva Gray has joined Hampshire on a 2-year deal.

Gray, 26, won The Hundred with London Spirit in 2024 and has played 53 times for Essex over the past two seasons.

For Essex, she has taken 63 wickets and scored 239 runs across all competitions.

Eva Gray said: “I’m really excited to be joining Hampshire.

“I’ve played a lot of cricket against them over the years, so I know they’re a very successful side with a fantastic group of players and staff who I’m really keen to learn from.

“The Utilita Bowl always has a great atmosphere and I’ve been really impressed by how the club supports its women’s side, which is hugely exciting to be a part of.

“I’m looking forward to hopefully contributing with both bat and ball, and to building on this year’s success by helping the team bring home some silverware.

“I can’t wait to get started and to meet everyone properly in pre season.”

Gray began her career at Surrey, who she represented from 2014-2022, and played professionally for South East Stars and Sunrisers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup.

In 2026, she took 32 wickets across the Metro Bank One Day Cup and Vitality Blast, and scored 78 runs.

Adam Carty, Regional Director of Women’s Cricket, said: “In Eva Gray, the club have secured the services of a cricketer of vast experience, who has the proven ability to bowl in all three phases of an innings.

“She’s a proven winner and has a nice habit for taking wickets across both white ball formats.

“Eva is one who likes to get into the battle, and her ambition for team success aligns well with our hunger for continued progress. I am delighted that Eva has decided to join our club.”

She has also represented England A in four matches against Australia in 2023 and 2024, where she picked up six wickets.

In The Hundred, she has featured 40 times for London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix, and won the competition in 2024. She has taken 33 wickets and scored 94 runs across the five years of the competition.
