FORMBY ARE the 2026 champions of the Liverpool and District Competition despite a final day loss to Rainford. They went into the final weekend nine points ahead of second place Newton-le-Willows but an exciting finish to the season was denied after Newton-le-Willows were only able to pick up five points due to their match against Leigh ultimately being abandoned after a delayed start that had seen Leigh make it to 226-7from 60 overs.
