Records tumble in schools cup competitions

WITH THE Bank Holiday weekend, most boarding schools were on exeat over the weekend, resulting in fewer Saturday fixtures than normal. At the same time, GCSE and A-level exams start in earnest next week, and with pupils starting study leave, opportunities for midweek cricket are also reduced. Competitions like the Cricket Paper Under-17 continue through this period, and the Under-18 competitions have fewer games as the number of remaining participants dwindles.
