The Asia Cup has gotten underway in the UAE with Afghanistan comfortably beating Hong Kong in the opening fixture in Group B by 94 runs.
Afghanistan posted 188-6, Sediqullah Atal making 73 at the top of the order and Azmatullah Omarzai smashing 53 off 21 from No.6.
In reply, Hong Kong made 94-9, Babar Hayat making a stubborn 39 from 43 balls as Gulbadin Naib returned figures of 2-8 from three overs.
The second match, in Group A, saw India crush hosts UAE by nine wickets.
