HAYWARDS HEATH defeated Roffey in a one-run thriller at Crawley Road as the Sussex League started with a bang.
Chasing 356 to win, Roffey went into the final over on 345-7, requiring 11 to win from the final six balls bowled by Jonny Phelps.
Ben Whelpton and Lewis Shivnarain managed five from the first three deliveries before the latter was bowled by Phelps from the fourth to leave the six required from the final two balls.
