The West Indies have failed to qualify for the Women’s World Cup for the first time in 25 years, missing out by an agonising 0.01 on net run-rate.
They join Scotland and Ireland who also miss out on qualification, the trio finishing behind Pakistan and Bangladesh in the qualifying stage.
After restricting Thailand to 166 in their final match, West Indies needed to reach the target in ten overs to finish above Bangladesh.
Despite a monumental effort, they could only post 156-3 in that required time, falling five deliveries short of a place in the World Cup.
