James Rew has replaced the luckless Jordan Cox in the England squad to take on Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge on May 22.
Cox had already missed his planned Test debut over the winter after he fractured a thumb in the nets in New Zealand.

Last weekend at Taunton he suffered an abdominal muscle injury running a single to take him to 99, retiring hurt after completing his hundred.
This after a broken finger sustained during the Hundred in the summer of 2023 had stalled talk of international honours.
