Surrey sign Hishaam Khan for One-Day Cup campaign
All-rounder Hishaam Khan has signed for Surrey for the remainder of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup after earning a second chance in county cricket following his successful spell with the South Asian Cricket Academy.
Surrey have signed all-rounder Hishaam Khan on professional terms for the remainder of their Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign.
The 26-year-old left-arm seamer and left-handed batter joins the Kia Oval county after impressing with the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA), having previously featured in the competition for Worcestershire in 2024.
Khan, who was born in Nottingham, played six List A matches for Worcestershire after becoming the ninth SACA player to earn a professional county contract in July 2024.
Following his release, he returned to SACA, where he has continued to develop into a genuine all-rounder with consistent performances in both disciplines.

Opportunity
His move to Surrey marks another success story for SACA, with Khan becoming the third player to secure a second professional county opportunity after Yadvinder Singh and Mo Rizvi.
The switch also reunites him with former SACA teammate Nikhil Gorantla, who signed a two-year deal with Surrey last year.
SACA founder and managing director Tom Brown believes Khan has earned another chance in the professional game.
“We are really pleased for Hishaam, who thoroughly deserves this opportunity once again to prove himself in the county game,” Brown said.
Excited
He continued: “He has worked incredibly hard since coming back to SACA and has turned himself into a genuine all-rounder.
“I’m excited to see him put the lessons he has learnt from his last stint in this competition into action.
“We wish him every success over the remainder of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign.”
Khan will now look to impress Surrey’s coaching staff during the remainder of the One-Day Cup, with the prospect of securing a longer-term future in county cricket.
