Fateh Singh is enjoying a breakthrough summer with Worcestershire, claiming maiden five-wicket hauls in both first-class and List A cricket while embracing the pressure of establishing himself as a young English spinner.

“Maiden five-fers in first-class and List A cricket, it’s why you play the game, isn’t it?” Fateh Singh’s rhetorical question is a consequence of an excellent couple of months for Worcestershire.
In his team’s Championship win against west country rivals Gloucestershire, the slow left-armer registered 5-74.
That was followed up with 6-32 against Derbyshire in the first match of the Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign.
Despite his recent success, the 22-year-old is astute enough to appreciate the tricky demands placed on the shoulders of a fledgling English spinner.
