FOR MANY schools, last week was the final week of a challenging term for cricket. The combined demands of external exams and a very wet fortnight at the beginning of June threatened to derail various cup competitions. However, no one could predict the extreme heat experienced by much of the county, leading to most games, especially in the South, being cancelled with young cricketers' welfare in mind.
