Two-year ban: Sanath Jayasuriya
FORMER Sri Lanka captain and chief selector Sanath Jayasuriya said he accepted his two-year ban from the game for “the love of the sport of cricket”.
The 49-year-old was handed by the ban after he failed to cooperate with the International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption unit while they conducted an investigation into cricket in Sri Lanka.
National hero Jayasuriya, who retired from international cricket in 2012, was charged after he failed to provide a phone and SIM card to the investigation when requested to.
