We all know Phil Salt excels in top gear like few others, his pristine ball striking and unerring shot selection clinching glory for him and his team especially in T20.
But was it an innings against type, that saw him adopt lower gears, which saw him excluded from England’s recent 50-over team?
The knock in question came in Barbados 10 months ago. England were put in on a pitch which offered the seam bowlers early movement.
