Anthony McGrath backs One-Day Cup as Yorkshire’s youngsters shine

Anthony McGrath believes the One-Day Cup is proving invaluable for Yorkshire’s young players, with the head coach seeing encouraging signs for the county’s future despite an inconsistent Championship campaign.

The Hundred may well have grabbed the country’s best players, but Yorkshire’s head coach Anthony McGrath, speaking to TCP while preparing his side for their sixth game in the Metro Bank One-Day Cup at Lord’s today against Middlesex, is 100 per cent behind the 50 overs’ competition.
As McGrath, whose team are chasing a place in the Cup’s semi-finals, says the One-Day Cup has genuine benefits.
“It’s great experience for the younger guys who are not in the Hundred and are on the periphery of the T20 team,” he says.
