MIDDLESEX are to take on Irish side Leinster Lightning in an historic Twenty20 Challenge Match this summer.
The match, held at Pembroke CC, Dublin on June 21, will be the first ever match between an Irish province and an English county in what is a major development for the Irish game.
Middlesex will use the match as preparation for their Vitality T20 Blast campaign, while for Leinster Lightning, celebrating their centenary this year, it will serve as a major challenge ahead of the Cricket Ireland Interprovincial Twenty20 Festivals in 2019.
