Chapple salutes his ‘phenomenal’ skipper after 266

LANCASHIRE coach Glen Chapple is running out of superlatives for his captain Dane Vilas, whose sensational double century was the difference between these two sides at Colwyn Bay.
Vilas struck 35 fours and six sixes in a 240-ball 266, an exhibition innings which ensured Lancashire strengthened their grip on Division Two’s top spot. Glamorgan, meanwhile, are struggling to maintain their promotion charge having been the league’s early pace-setters. They have lost successive Championship games amid a woeful T20 Blast campaign.
