“FANTASTIC, so pleased for him.” Alec Stewart’s text was understandably brief and hardly needed to say more.
As the Surrey coach prepared his team for Friday evening’s Vitality Blast game at Taunton, the county’s Championship skipper, Rory Burns, was reaching his maiden Test century in his first Ashes Test. It was little wonder everyone at The Oval was delighted.
