Nottinghamshire’s George Munsey putting Scotland first despite Blast success

George Munsey says representing Scotland remains his priority despite enjoying the most prolific T20 Blast campaign of his career with Nottinghamshire and sampling the growing franchise circuit.

“I play for Scotland, that’s my contract, I play for them first and foremost, and when I’m free, I’m allowed to play franchise cricket. So this has been the first time in quite some time where we’ve not had fixtures and I’ve been available for a full stint. It’s as simple as that really.”
George Munsey, the 33-year-old opening batter, might be enjoying his longest and most fruitful T20 Blast campaign with Nottinghamshire, but his continuing prioritisation of international cricket is clear.
