There’s definitely a difference in standard between the two divisions, but it’s not necessarily about the individual players.
You can look at all 18 counties, and there are exceptional players at all of them.
Every county has a really good XI, if not a really good squad of 13 or 14, but it’s what that they can bring in after that where the real difference lies.
It’s noticeable when you’re getting past the middle and towards the back end of a season.
You look at a county like Surrey, where they’ve got the money to bring in an exceptional overseas or have an experienced squad...
