Louis opts to handle with care

LEICESTERSHIRE’S Louis Kimber was given out in controversial circumstances in this week’s clash with Gloucestershire at Bristol. The 26-year-old patted a bouncing ball away with his hand as he attenpted to defend a delivery from Ollie Price. After an appeal from the Gloucestershire fielders, the umpires conferred, and Kimber was given out obstructing the field under Law 37.1.2. The law states: “The striker is out Obstructing the Field if in the act of receiving a ball delivered by the bowler, he/she wilfully strikes the ball with a hand not holding the bat.&#...
