After news spread that Mitchell Starc was set to be dropped for the first Test and replaced by veteran Peter Siddle, former Australian captain Kim Hughes “nearly fell out of his chair”.
“Starc is one of the very best bowlers in the world and looked at his best during the World Cup,” Hughes, who captained Australia in 28 Tests from 1979-84, told The Cricket Paper. “Siddle bowls steady and tight but I know who I would rather be facing.”
