AUSSIE YOUNG gun Sam Konstas kicked off his bid to be part of Australia’s Ashes plans by starting his Australian summer with a century for New South Wales Country against New South Wales City.
He hit six sixes in a whirlwind knock of 109, facing up against an attack that included Aussie white-ball internationals Sean Abbott and Tanveer Sangha, helping his side recover from 6-60 to 265 all out.
There were also early season runs for another potential Ashes opener in Marnus Labuschagne, who hit a 57-ball century for Redlands in Queensland’s T20 Max competition.
