ENGLAND Women’s captain Heather Knight has criticised Hundred officials for a lack of communication after rain washed out Sunday’s clash between the Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets.
Persistent rain caused the abandonment of the women’s game at 3.30pm but things had improved considerably by the time the men came out to warm up ahead of the scheduled 6.30pm toss.
But a soggy patch on the edge of the square caused concern and after long discussions with both captains and coaches, an initial 6.45pm inspection was followed by another at 7.45pm.
