Development

Morley’s ten dismissals in six Vitality Blast appearances put him top of the Falcons wicket-taking charts, establishing him as a key member of the T20 attack.

Head of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, said: “Jack’s development as a multi-format spinner has been really impressive and he has stepped up in difficult moments for us this season.

“He grabbed the opportunity to bowl crucial overs in T20s with both hands and I’ve been so impressed with his desire to learn and improve with every performance.

“We have a really exciting group of young spinners who are capable of performing at a very high level and can play whatever role we require of them. So tying down one of our most promising players for a further two seasons is very pleasing.”

Environment

Morley added: “I’m very pleased to have signed with Derbyshire for another couple of years, I feel like I’m getting better all the time and this is the perfect environment for me to develop.

“I want to be someone who can contribute in all formats and this season has been a great opportunity for me to adapt to different situations and show what I can do when the pressure is on.

“We have a great group of players and coaches, we all want to win games and challenge for silverware with Derbyshire and we’re moving in the right direction to do that.”
