INDIA EASILY defeated Sri Lanka in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup in Dubai, bowling out Sri Lanka for 111 to win by 72 runs. Batting first they posted 183-5, Shafali Verma hitting 68 and Smriti Mandhana 59 as the opening pair shared a stand of 129 in 12.5 overs. Captain Chamari Athapaththu (36) top scored for Sri Lanka as Shree Charani took 4-20 with her left-arm spin.
