The latest rounds of Championship cricket brought a lot of success for English spinners.
Rehan Ahmed and Tom Hartley both took match 10-fers (and scored hundreds!), Jack Leach ran riot at Ciderabad, Matt Parkinson took seven at Canterbury, Mason Crane claimed 6-19 at Old Trafford.
All timely interventions, with Shoaib Bashir’s absence through injury heating up the debate about who should be England’s frontline spinner for this winter’s Ashes and beyond.
However, looking across the circuit, I can hardly spot an English spinner that manages to get it ‘up and down’.
