THE HUDDERSFIELD League enjoyed its first round of fixtures as an ECB Premier League, including a win for champions Moorlands and a commanding win for Samit Patel’s new club Hoylandswaine.
Moorlands beat Thongsbridge by 41 runs to get their title defence underway. Batting first, they recovered from losing Marcus Walmsley to the first ball of the season to post 203, Chavez Younes making an important 75 not out from 115 balls.
