When I first started playing I was an old-school swing bowler. I remember having a conversation at a PCA awards night with Matt Maynard. He said: “Batters always shape up against away-swing; right-handers always look to face away-swing on the bowling machine; left-handers always want it coming in. No one ever goes the other way.”
