India cricket team’s tour of England kicked off on 3 July at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester. The tour started off with six one-day test matches between England and India at various locations, with both sides being pretty evenly matched and winning three of the games each.

Three day test matches

The first of the longer three day test matches was held from 25 July to 27 July at the County Ground in Chelmsford and the match was a draw. The next match started on 1 August and was held at the Edgbaston cricket ground in Birmingham and the home team won by just 31 runs.

The next test match was held from 9 August to 13 August and England won this as well. This was a resounding victory for the home team, with the win by an innings and 159 runs.

Forthcoming test matches
