They say that you can wait for an age for a London bus, then suddenly two come along at once, and for Lancashire youngster George Balderson, that idiom rings eerily relevant.
The 18-year-old is fresh off the back of an England Under-19s tour to Bangladesh, one that was prefaced with a month that featured a pair of cricketing firsts for the all-rounder: a first England Young Lions call-up followed a first professional contract.
And now, eight weeks distanced from that feted span, Balderson is still revelling in the glow.
