Firstly, tell us a little bit of your story and your background.
I’m Jake Oakes, 23, and work for the National Deaf Children’s Society. I’m a proud Yorkie, growing up in Hull (City of Culture 2017) before university in Liverpool and now London.
I’m severely to profoundly deaf, using spoken English and BSL. I’ve played cricket since I was seven, over 16 years and played with the England deaf cricket for 10 years now.
