Tests must become more of a priority

FOR all the huge strides made in women’s ODI and T20I cricket, the lack of Test matches now played is disappointing. With a little creative thinking, this would be easy to change.
A template is provided by the ICC Intercontinental Cup, the first-class tournament for leading Associate nations. Each of the eight sides play each other home or away over a three-year cycle, which amounts to seven first-class matches over three years.
Hardly a lot, no, but the games have context and matter. Such a structure would be easy for the women’s game to adopt. A Test Championship ...
