Beating the pain barrier: James Anderson may bowl in pain but has just recorded his most successful calendar year to date

JAMES ANDERSON has admitted he rarely bowls pain-free and often everyday tasks such as brushing his teeth can be agony.
England’s record wicket-taker will turn 36 this year and, after 15 years at the top, is now entering the home straight of a stellar career.
Yet given Anderson has just enjoyed his best calendar year, taking 55 wickets across 11 Tests at an average of 17.58, he is showing no signs of retiring just yet.
