LEICESTER IVANHOE’S Sam Evans became the first batter to reach 1,000 Premier League runs this summer when he scored 90 in his side’s Leicestershire & Rutland League victory over Lutterworth last weekend.
In 10 innings, he has made 1,024 runs with a highest score of 137 not out at an average of 128. He’s hit six tons and four fifties, all at the impressive strike rate of 89.12. He celebrated the achievement by hitting 154 for Lincolnshire against Bedfordshire in the NCCA Championship just two days later.
