SHIKHAR Dhawan’s injury has a myriad of complications for India’s World Cup campaign.
The opener has a handsome record in ICC events held in England, as the player of the tournament in the 2013 Champions Trophy and top run-scorer in the 2017 edition on these shores.
But the southpaw, 33, was struck on his left thumb by a Pat Cummins lifter last Sunday and, with his hand in a plaster for long periods, may leave his side’s slip cordon short.
