MIDDLESEX yesterday withdrew Nick Gubbins from the squad for their Bob Willis Trophy match against Kent at Canterbury after the batsman came into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.
Gubbins, 26, will now undergo a period of self-isolation and have a test for coronavirus before he can play again.
The news is a blow to Middlesex given Gubbins had been in good form this summer, scoring 192 in his county’s opening match of the season against Surrey and averaging 76 so far in the Bob Willis Trophy.
