WHEN vandals set fire to 20 memorial seats at Atherton Cricket Club last year, Chris Baxendale and Ian Jones knew there was something they could do to help out.Farnworth’s Baxendale joined forces with teaching assistant and bat fixer Jones, coming up with the idea to create a new memorial bench out of old cricket bats.Baxendale said: “I thought of it but it’s really Ian who did a lot.
