THIS SUMMER, Chertsey Cricket Club will celebrate a remarkable milestone in cricket history: the 250th anniversary of the introduction of the middle stump. This innovation, now a fundamental part of the game worldwide, has its roots in an incident involving a Chertsey player during the 18th century.
