YOUNG GUN
BEN CHARLESWORTH
Gloucestershire all-rounder
Ben Charlesworth came into county cricket breaking records, becoming the youngest player to reach a half-century for Gloucester in more than 70 years.
To reach the landmark he lofted England’s Dawid Malan for a straight six over his head, going on to score 77 not out, before taking 3-25 in 13 overs – all in one day of cricket in September.
Then, aged 17 and in only in his third first-class game, it’s something the youngster had worked towards since starting playing matches aged eight at Abingdon Vale Cricket Club.
